Televisa’s Spanish-language version of the popular show Migratoría has released a trailer for the upcoming season, “Cabrera.”
The season follows the adventures of Carmen (Viviana Alcoz), an aspiring actress who makes a new life in Mexico.
“Carmen is a very interesting character,” executive producer Carlos Castaneda told The Verge in a phone interview.
“She has a very special quality that we can’t capture in our trailer.
We hope you will enjoy the show.”
Migrators will first have to leave the United States and then cross the border to Mexico.
They’ll then be reunited with Carmen’s family in Los Caballeros de la Luna, a fictional town in Los Angeles.
“In this world, she’s still a fugitive and we hope to make her feel as welcome as possible,” Castanella said.
“The cast is a lot of different people, so we’re trying to find the right balance between the actors and the director.”
Migrants will also be forced to deal with the challenges of growing up and living in a new country.
“As a Mexican immigrant, there’s a lot to learn,” Castel said.
“[I hope] people will learn to love their country and be proud of their heritage.”
